Oblivion

Oblivion

A Poem by Briley

Here they come

Oh, here they come

Smoldering faces

Of ash and bones

Sorrow

Plunging into

Black seas

Of old news

And forgotten memories

Stand and wait

Hold your breath

But don’t hold your breath

They’re not coming.

I felt like writing, so I opened Microsoft Word, put my fingers on the keyboard, and within about 15 seconds, this is what was there.

Like the humor in this one-- those kind of writing exercises can really spur the imagination.

enigmatic creative surreality that evokes an immediate emotional response~ very tense!~ love the open ended interpretation you've left to the reader!~
