Ex-Love

Ex-Love

A Poem by Britny_ Grady
"

A poem of heart break and getting over it.

"

EX-Love

You told me I'd be yours forever,

That our ties would never sever.

I use to believe those grains of truth,

But I realize now I was just in my youth.

You tore my heart and made me cry,

Now I demand to know why?

Was it all just a joke or a game,

How is it you turn away and feel no shame?

A broken heart takes time to mend,

And I'm better off in the end.

You're with her now and out of sight.

I guess things do end up right.

You are no longer a part of my life.

You no longer cause pain and strife.

Future is the past and I'm no longer sad,

Now you realize you've lost what we had.

Author's Note

Britny_ Grady
I wrote the first part of this poem after one of my exes broke up with me for another woman... the second part I wrote after I'd moved on and found out he wanted me back. He even told me he'd made a mistake but I wasn't about to make the same mistake twice.

About
Hi. My name is, as I said, Britny Grady. I am a twenty-year-old who still lives with my mother while I go to college in the area (it's cheap/free). I have always had an overly vivid imagination and.. more..
