A Normal Teenage Girl

A Normal Teenage Girl

A Poem by Brittany
"

I'm not...

"
Oh my gosh!
Why won't they listen?
I hate you!

Ahh, the normal thoughts,
Of a teenage girl.
Do I have these thoughts?
Of course.

But I wonder,
Do normal teenage girls,
Get excited when mom is home?
Play with 3 little brothers,
They happen to adore.

Would they get up at 3 in the morning,
To answer that stupid text
A friend had sent about boys.
That friend who you can no longer have,
A simple intelligent conversation.

Sometimes I think not.
For some reason I don't think.
Im a normal teenage girl.

Did anything tragic happen to me?
To make me in a horrible way,
Actually mature?

Absolutely not, but,
I laugh, and giggle and I play.
But still...

I dont really know
The point of this poem,
I just want you to know.
That I don't quite believe.

I'm a normal teenage girl.

Thank you :)
Hahaha, well, it happens to the best of us! and I'm loving the free verse! the way these poems flow without rhyme is incredibly intelligent!
