Hatred

Hatred

A Poem by Britiful Bean

Comes directly from the mind.
And once combined with the heart,
It creates sour tastes.

It's when the heart wants something,
But the mind cannot find a way.

Now,
This is not always the case,
Just a possibility.

Whereas,
It could be the remnants of pain and brokenness,
That you've been left alone to deal with.

It may be that you want someone to prevent you from being alone,
But they leave you to your lonely.

It could be the one that is supposed to lift you,
Is keeping you down.

It could be petty differences,
Not yet recognized as "petty".

Hatred goes away,
Once the heart forgets.

But today's society,
We've learned to hold on to the past and never let go.

We're told that they wronged us once,
They'll most definitely do it again.

We forget,
We're not the same from OUR past.
What makes someone else different than our own self?

People wrong us in life,
It's just the way the cookie crumbles.

That doesn't define who they'll be in six months;
A lot can happen in that time.

People could be manipulating the ones they love,
Drinking,
Smoking,
Or changing themselves.

Who said that's bad?
Who declares it amazing?

Hatred can be prevented,
If we all ran,
Far away,
From Society...
