A Poem by Brooke, this is the otherside.

I can’t comprehend why you are allowed to be blissful,

Why can’t I be placed into that position too?

I know I can feel them wanting to reach the sky,

But I’ve been tied down to this simple, dreadful outlook.

I can see your expression, happy in themselves,

But I can’t help but feel that I’ve been down.

You’ve stung me with words, paralyzed me with smiles,

But I can’t seem to pull myself up from the hole you’ve placed me in.

Nice work, though I feel it would better be titled as prose than poetry. Of course, the system on writers cafe restricts you to some extent, it is very powerful. I like the stinging feel it gives you and can appreciate the honesty. Keep writing pilgrim.
