Bound to Win

Bound to Win

A Poem by Brooklyn

These miles between us are bound to win

I think about you all the time, I can’t help it… I just do

I think to myself, that maybe you’re thinking of me to

But these miles between us are bound to win

I wonder if I’ll ever see you again

I wonder why I met you and started to fall, if we were just going to be torn apart

These miles between us are bound to win

I seriously question my sanity when I dream about all the possibilities of you and me

I seriously have considered running away from everything and running to find you

But these miles between us are bound to win

I read that message from you, and my feelings spiraled out of control

I read the words that made me think, “yep, he’s the one”

But these miles between us are bound to win

It really doesn’t seem fair

They say it’s a small world, but it’s too big for us

I’m here, you’re there… long distance isn’t fair

I miss your smile and your mischievous grin

And the looks you gave me just to make me laugh

I miss the warmth of your hugs and the way you held me in your arms

I just want to go back to those days, when we were together

I miss you so much

There’s a space in my heart that only you can fill

But that hole will remain empty

Because these miles between us won
