Lonesome Roads

Lonesome Roads

A Poem by Bryan A. Tann
"

Just shooting from the hip.

"
I hate.
I hate how no matter what I do,
No matter where I go,
No matter how hard I try,
I am forever alone.
Oh sure,
I hear the words 'I love you'
Words of friendship and adoration.
In the end what does it mean?
I'm still long to find my smile.
This arrow that's piercing my heart doesn't allow me any release or relief.
I long for my life,
I long for my joy to find me and caress me.
To feel its arms surrounding me as each step takes me closer to my dreams.
These roads are lonesome ones traveled.
They're roads that I've traveled each day I have dared to breath.
My relief comes sporadic and brief, unable to find anything to make it all stay permanently.
So these lonesome roads I wander until the day in time,
When my wandering ends
And my true life begins.
