Angry Glare

Angry Glare

A Poem by BuBuWinter
"

Don't give me that angry glare father. Your just as bad as me, and only I know the pain I'm in.

"
Dear father,
Please don't give me that glare
My fuse is short but so is yours
That angry glare tells me so
Say you know me
Tell me I'm the same as you
But how do I know that is so?
I once told myself
"No, no more lies"
Did you do the same?
I find it hard to tell
If your truth is a lie

Dear father,
Please don't give me that glare
I hurt much these days
Yet my smile always seems to fool
Both you and mom
Along with all my friends
So father,
Dear father,
Don't give me that angry glare
You aren't me
And frankly, dear father
My friends see more of me than you

Author's Note

BuBuWinter
My dad just glared at me while I was on the brink of tears writing the emotional part of my story "Try" and voila! This poem was born! I call him Angry Glare. What do you think of the word choice..?
