a voice heard from above
a fragment strewn
a memory hewn
lost love and childlike fright

A spiral painted white
takes the form of a dove
through shimmering waves
in lust he craves
a selfish act of might

A devil in the night
an angel lost in love
a siren’s tune
a hopeless croon
with sharpened teeth, he bites
