Immortal

Immortal

A Poem by Sequoia Copple

The darkness is all around me.
I feel as if I'm being consumed by nothingness.
I feel empty inside.
I do not like what I have become.
I have become a monster.

I long to see the sun again.
To see the orange glow on the horizon.
But at the break of day, I myself hide away.

I thirst for the taste of blood.
I long for rubies to drip from my lips.
In the shadows I lurk.
Waiting for the sun to set.
So that I may prowl the night,
and hunt until first light.

I am a vampire.
I am immortal.
And I always will be.
