Ambivalence

Ambivalence

A Poem by cynthiabuhainbaello

Ambivalence is saying "No"

But all the time meaning a "Yes"

A play of masks begins to show

An absence of pure Genuineness.

Ambivalence seeks to please

By never making a stand,

It dwells in Neutrality's ease

Its choices hard to understand.

A pendulum of hidden Ego,

A sway of thoughts prevailing,

Accepting every concept so

It gains prestige by people-pleasing.

Ambivalence has payments too

For in the end there is Life's scale.

We will be weighed by what is true

And Ambivalence,  in eternity...fails.

You can't balance in the middle forever...eventually you must choose a side, or one will choose you...

Yes how true Marie. I think when it concerns eternal values we cannot afford to be ambivalent.
