Next Fall

A Poem by cynthiabuhainbaello

Changing seasons
Again,  it beckons
A coming winter...
But we're not yet
Together.

Changing colors
From red to amber,
Colder winds blow
And I wish I could go
Where you are
All that I know.

Unchanging love
A permanence here
Remains to prove
I will be there
To see the next
Falling of leaves
With you.

I find as much hopefulness in this poem as I do sadness. There will always be a next year.
