What You Made Of Me

What You Made Of Me

A Poem by Crys
"

A short poem about the effects of a tough breakup.

"

I wish I could hold myself,

Caress my broken soul in my palm and dust away the crumbling pieces of my heart.

You left me so frail, so weak.

I feel as though a sudden breeze may shatter my defenseless remains.

I am so lost.

I am spinning in circles inside the maze you threw me into.

You pushed me down in the dirt and said “walk”.

But how do I walk, if you leave me unable to stand?

At one point, I believed you would be my savior,

The only thing that I could lean upon and know you wouldn’t crush under my weight.

But now I lay naked and curled on the floor.

You moved aside and watched as I tumbled to the ground.

Battle scarred and heartbroken, I attempt to sweep together the mess you have made.
