Sleepless

Sleepless

A Poem by Charlie's Enigmatic Wren

Sleepless

Sleepless nights

Awake, tossing and turning.

Endless rotations of the pillow,

This way, and that.

Vain attempts at finding comfort,

A cool spot.

Mind spinning,

Thoughts racing,

And yet, thoughts they are evasive.

The morning light seeps

Inside the room.

The birds,

They begin their morning twitterings.

The new day will soon have begun.

Soon, the alarm, it will sound.

New hope, in the day to be found.

I have the same problem, night after night.
I'm happy to see I'm not the only one.
