Love of the Sea

Love of the Sea

A Poem by Corina Jean

Not to France, Europe , or Asia.

No, I would take you to the sea
To where the air is full of salt just like the tears that I cry when you are away
The sea
Where the crab legs are as red as the lips I long to kiss
Where the fish have scales that shine like your eyes in the sun

Although the smell could cover your perfume
And the claws of a lobster could pinch harder than when we embrace

I would take you to the sea and show you the seashells and have you pick your favorite
Put it on a band of heated sand
and wrap it on your finger
Surrounded in seaweed I would hold you
Hold you under the sun

And leave you with a kiss smoother that a clam's shell
Leave you with a kiss that sends sparks stronger than an electric eel soaring through you

To the sea I would take you
I would take you and show you
Show you my love that is stronger than a shark's jaw

I would never let you go
Not even through a storm that rages in the sea
The sea holding strong, beautiful things
But not as strong and beautiful as you and me
To the sea
