Medicated

Medicated

A Poem by Charlee Richards
"

Feeling sluggish

"
My slumber is heavy, my body fights.
Vague memories of dazed battles,
A sluggish war fueled by pills.
A bitter defeat;
For I am too weak to fight

I've mentioned this before to many poets on here, but I really enjoy shorter poems because I feel like it's a challenge to get the meat of the poem into so few words, which you accomplished here. Vivid and emotional, this piece is brilliant.

Thank you :) Short poems is my specialty
Powerful language, which you'd sooner find in longer pieces, cut bitterly short. The poem itself is conceding to defeat. Great stuff, Charlee, keep it up!
