Hello and Goodbye

Hello and Goodbye

A Poem by Laconic Meraki
"

What does this mean to you?

"
Hello and Goodbye.
For now, its Farewell.
But, I will rise just like the sun.
One more trip - to you I run.
(Do you hear me calling?)

I will come back to you.
I always do.
Hello darlin'-once more.
A tie that binds us stronger than before.
Goodbye ..
Goodbye...
(You're not crazy. Brains a little hazy.)
Fading..
Fading..

Goodbye is over rated.
I say" only for now."
Never alone.
In the dark, I'll be your light.
The voice that speaks to you through waves- so loud.
I'll be the beacon- guiding you home- so bright.

Echos I hear. Echo of the past .
The seasons change- as do people.
Hello then goodbye.
Pheniox rising from ash.
Once again.
Hello again.

To me your love like glass.
A clearview.
See through.

Goodbye for now, as leaves fall with grace to the ground.
Be silent.
Listen.
You'll see where I am.
I'll be waiting to hear you say "hello" again.

Interesting play on hello-goodbye . . . almost seems like a spoof on the way humans make such a big deal out of people coming & going, staying or not staying, whatever. Lots of humans like to stick around the barn, but lots of other humans need to roam & explore & dive into parts of life that cannot be shared. The person who must roam cannot abide for long with someone nagging about whether it's been too long or too many goodbyes or whatever. I'm reminded of an all-time favorite movie with Robert Redford & Meryl Streep: Out of Africa. She cuts off her nose to spite her face, kicking him out of her life becuz he won't stay home as often as she would like. Love should be about accepting the other person, not molding to their needs. See how much your writing provoked me to spill? That's what good writing always does! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Some people do return. In my lifetime. I knew two woman, left and came back often to me. One day. I gave-up on them.
"To me your love like glass.

I love the above lines dear Laconic. I do like the ancient John Donne words. "We don't find love. Love find us." Thank you for sharing your amazing poetry and thoughts.

"parting is such sweet sorrow, I'll say goodbye until it be morrow"---

we always come back, it is our nature to love and be loved.
This reminds me of Robert Creeley ---and the passionate poetry he wrote in a conversational
way.
