Crystalline

Crystalline

A Poem by Jordan Randolph

A flying wind lands,
"Darling, open the way."

A broken heart emerges,
"Darling, open the way."

A dead horse breathes,
"Darling, open the way."

Now, little sunspots reduce a glare
on my eyes already half shut.
Now, broken glass fills my lungs
and I become a fountain.

A crystalline sea bottom, a cave,
with only blue pigment and no air--
So find solace in a slow growing carapace.
When the stalagmites cover your eyes--
So know solitude in a sunk coffin;

It will rise and open on waves of ardor and blue.
Emerge! from the cave a seer.
