Through a Glass Wall

Through a Glass Wall

A Poem by Calissa Knox

I'm a mysterious friend.
You can't see me.

I speak to you through
a glass wall.
You can't hear me.

I watch you from a distance,
knowing you will never know me.

sounds like a distant friendship
like they're on the other side but we
can't speak.

If you ever just want to talk or you're
feeling down just let me know I usually
speak to Jesus but I have friends I trust
and speak to and we all need a friend.

Even though you've not known me
long I am a calm peaceful soul
and you will be in my prayers as well
Many blessings to you my friend.

Thank you for stopping by my page
but that is all God and I am glad it
brought you some peace when you read
it that is why I wrote it I do it to glorify
God and to inspire and help others and if
it saves them and gives them peace then
God has done his Job
and it is healing for me to write.

Merry Christmas to you and your
family from my family. Benita

Haha, thanks, Neon; so are you! :)
I like this. It can be interpreted on so many levels but the most obvious one is probably about being friends with someone on the internet. Thank you for sharing!

This says it all when we are all online and never really get to know one another.
Sad, really.

Yes, yes it is. Thank you for the review!
I agree with bobc's description of the feeling of the poem, and I think it comes from someone declaring their friendship yet remaining remote and inaccessible, a contradiction that makes sense if you interpret the glass wall as the computer screen and the friends the people you communicate with about their poems and stories. Of course, it could simply be a metaphor for the distance that is always maintained in a relationship. What is really excellent about this poem is that you are able to suggest so much with so few words.

it is like a protector watching from afar...keeping a distance, but always there.

Mysterious people are wonderful, not only to the fact they are elusive, mysterious but also because other people can understand them. I was talking recently with someone about the piece of glass in front of him ... I saw it as ice, translucent, and when the time is right it will melt .... it will melt, in which one feels bound, feels safe, and it should not feel embarrassed ... forced or seen as an object ...
With this wonderful little poem, full of truths, you will open a lot of eyes, my dear ....

Thanks for sharing, I slept, woke up being buzzed by some friends, but close my eyes again, hope to see you in Calioco, parallel to my Second World dear friend,

Such a great piece I can fully recognize with, many thanks! and I hope you're jamming right now ;)
