Everything Was Fine

Everything Was Fine

A Poem by The Poet of Black Wings

Everything was fine.
Simple,
Clean,
And dandy.
All was in order.
Nothing
Out of place.
The list,
Complete.
So, they set it down.

The day passes
Calmly.
Quite well and
Lacking incident.
Heading to bed.
Merry was till…
Merry wasn't.

They noticed,
The little notice,
Written upon the
Reverse of the list.
Their heart dropped.
Fell into the depths of
Despair!
"What have I done!"
They cried out.
An ocastra of
Shame falling unto
Their shoulders.

One job,
One minor thing,
They had to endure!
Nothing more!
And yet,
They failed.

The white door
Swings open,
And they become
Gripped with fear
As they hear;
"Honey, where's the milk?"
