Leave Me Be

Leave Me Be

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

I'll never be just fine..

"
Cannon says hello, mountain says goodbye.
I'm falling down below, crashing from the high.
I'm missing their soft glow, my eyes pale green and dry.

No room left for tears, they've all went away.
Destruction over my years has turned my world gray.
My life's switching gears, thoughts leading me astray.

I guess I didn't know I wouldn't be okay.

Alone I sit in life, no one wanting me around.
I try not to show the strife that's buried me in the ground.
I hope that this knife is one that's never found.

I close my eyes tight trying to block out the dreams.
They keep me up at night, causing deafening screams.
I'm a pitiful sight cause I'm tearing, slowly, at every seam.

I've truly tried to fight their rejecting sounds, put-downs.

Alone in body and mind, I close my eyes and try to breathe,
Hoping maybe to find the parts lost, in battle, of me.
No need for my kind, this world neglects my pleas.

The pain has made me blind. Leave me to die. Leave me be.
