Hear Their Story

Hear Their Story

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

Listen closely.

"
Listen to the wind as it calls out my name
Screaming words of hurt and pain
Pulling me farther down until I can't speak
Draining my energy to make me weak

Sorrow cradles me in its heavy grasp
Keeping me mourning over the past
Let me go so I may be free
and not be held down for all eternity

Listen to the rain, singing sadly as it falls
Down from the sky in shards so small
Hear the song of their lovely death
pouring down on me, taking away my breath

I scream, but no one can hear
the vicious end is far to near
the wind calls, "Farewell to thee!"
As the rain drowns and buries me
