Fearless.

Fearless.

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

I will stop it.

"
I hear him tinkling laugh
from the prison cell
I stuffed him in.
I hear him whisper
from under that iron door.
Sweet, deceptive murmurs -

promises of loveliness to come.

It refreshes my memory,
washing my recovery away
with cool, crisp, soothing waters -
rinsing, baptizing
my mind and body.

With lying lips to my ear
he sighs of desires to feel
the bond we once had.
  He breathes a covenant
of purity into my soul.

I close my eyes and part my lips,
and lust for his delicious deceits.

I can't find the strength
to waste these nights of striving
to stay healthful.
  He fades,
slips away,
to the darkest pits of my mind,

along with an extra guard
to keep me safe
and without fear.

He won't ever touch me.
