Comfortable
in the silence

a lone wolf
staring at
the moon

slowly sipping
a glass of beer
and smoking a pipe

watching the
smoke trails
slowly drift away.

Sitting and listening

an old freight train
goes running
down the line

making itself
known in
the darkness

blaring it's horn

click clacking
going somewhere
fast.

A Contrast
to the wolf
sitting in
his silence

slowly

comforting himself
in his smoke and drink

his only companions
tonight

no longer able
to stand the
silence

he begins to howl
