One Bright Day

Inspiration from a beautiful day.

Awoken by light, 

No longer the night,

I find myself yawning,

What a beautiful morning.

After finding something to wear,

I trundle down the stairs,

Leaving home,

I head out alone.

Strolling through the park,

Dogs bark,

Children play, 

Not one cloud is grey.

I find somewhere to eat,

Sat out in the heat,

A waitress so cheerful,

And food so delightful.

Time for some exercise,

Sun cream would be wise,

I make my way up the hill,

Finding a lake ever so still.

I sit down for a few,

And take in the glorious view,

I’d love to stay,

One bright day.

This is my first submission. I wrote as the ideas and rhyming came into my head.
Just a quick poem inspired by the beautiful weather today.

A nice simple poem. I'm always a fan of a rhyming structure, especially when the rhymes come as naturally as they did here. The spontaneous flow of ideas from head to pen to paper is a wondrous journey indeed. Keep on writing, Cara! I look forward to reading more of your work. :)

The poetics of this verse is very naturalist and the flow is very constant. As a written verse, it does the job of immersing the reader in this particular poetry. I would suggest you to use juxtaposing images in order to make your poetry more aesthetic, perhaps a montage of natural images. Looking forward to your next work.

I like this poem very much,I like the fact that it was written from ideas as they came in to the writers head,that is how I write my poems also from thoughts that drift in to my mind,sometimes it seems to work for me and sometimes not,well done very nice read,
