Funny Little Tiny Girl

Funny Little Tiny Girl

A Poem by MyNameIs
"

Dream of bears, and dream of knights, and dream of what's to be. But most of all, little tiny girl, dream happy dreams of me.

"
I once had a teddy bear
Brown with large black eyes
It would hug me until I slept
Until the night had died

It's fur was soft
It's paws were large
It's mouth was small and cute
I had faced so many things
And it's them it helped me through

Every night before I slept
I gave it a big squeeze
Told it, "Thank you for always being there
Until I fall asleep."

It shook it's head and hugged me back,
It's fur tickling my arm
It said, "Oh funny little tiny girl,
I'll keep you safe from harm."

"I'll make sure no one hurts you,
That you have food to eat
I'll make sure that you brush your teeth
Before you fall asleep."

"I'll make sure you have comfort
As snug as a bug in a rug
And most of all, above all else,
I'll make sure you are loved."

But one night, I had woken up
Without it by my side
And with it as my protector,
I had broken down and cried.

"Oh funny little tiny girl,
why is it you cry so?"
I said, "Really, I am just confused.
Why'd you have to go?"

It said, "There are many things in this large large world
Too big for you and me
Many monsters that lurk out at night
when you fall asleep."

"These monsters, they are everywhere
Monsters filled with sins
Unique in what they all have done
To deserve the danger they're in."

"It may not seem like reality
But I'm a monster too.
Although a smaller little monster
that's taken a liking to you."

"If you're a monster, then does that mean..."
I gasped and backed away.
"You have sinned, what did you do?
Why are you here today?"

"I'm only here because I know you
You are my entire world
I'm here because you'll always be
my precious tiny girl"

"As for my sins, I can't erase
Everything I've done
I can only amend anything I can
and grow and then move on."

"But what did you do?
I have to know!
How many do you have?
Are they big or small, new or old,
Are they really all that bad?"

The bear just smiled and ruffled my head
Like my mom would do
And said, "Funny little tiny girl,
my sin was leaving you."

"When I left you, and never came back
You cried for days and days
You basically created a brand new lake
While I was away."

"I was to make sure no one hurt you,
That you had food to eat
I was to make sure that you brushed your teeth
Before you fell asleep."

"I was to make sure you had comfort
As snug as a bug in a rug
And most of all, above all else,
I was to make sure you were loved."

"But I left you, and couldn't do it.
I'm sorry for the pain
But know that even though I'm gone
My life is not in vain."

"For I had you, and even though I've sinned,
You're what made my life worthwhile
And I will always have the ability to say,
I had the most amazing child."

"So please don't cry while I'm away,
when I'm never there,
Just cuddle the loving stuffing
Out of this small brown bear."

"And every time you hug this bear
before you count your sheep
Imagine it to be little old me
with you while you sleep."

"Funny little tiny girl,
Know I love you so
I will not be physically here,
But I will watch you grow."

"So go back to sleep and happily dream
with a smile on your face.
Dream of cotton candy fields
of a magical wondrous place."

"Dream of bears, and dream of knights,
and dream of what's to be.
But most of all, little tiny girl,
Dream happy dreams of me."
