Paris

Paris

A Poem by Carl

Paris was caught

In the evening light

Stunningly beautiful

An alluring sight

People will lean

To wisper and say

"Don't you love Paris

On a day like today"

Paris has seen

In ages past

Society frequent

Her cafe's and bar's

Where the Gentry and Ladies

Steal the briefest kiss

Don't you love Paris

On a day like this

But Paris has known

The worst of times

Revolution and bullets

And battle lines

The storming of the Fortress

As the peole have their say

Don't you love Paris

On Bastille Day

But Paris has shed

So many tears

For her people

Through the years

She's known brilliant days

And adversity too

And through it all

Her beauty's shone through
