Orbits

Orbits

A Poem by Carson Kramer

The moon's skin peeled back.
The sun's relentless fury
burned her soul.
A faltered, then fallen orbit.
No gift, no kiss goodbye.
Left in vastness' vacuum.
The moon asked long ago for reprieve.
Ungranted.
The days and the nights
The nights and the daze.
The moon asked the other stars a question.
"Can a diehard maiden serve this rock and its dwellers"?
And question upon questions flooded the moon
before any answer came.
The fallen moon, unrequited in knowledge,
left the earth and it's dwellers.
Forever the same
Forever unchanged
Fallen.

Really nice piece Carson.
Sometimes you don't know what you've got until it's gone.

About
You have come to the Nom de Plume, of the writer known as, Nipplegrinder. It was suggested that I would receive a more welcoming response, if I hadn't such a repulsive screen name. (Thank you, Lyn.) .. more..
