Little Ones

Little Ones

A Poem by C.Symister

Little Ones

Remember the simpler times?

We'd get lost in the blue of the sky

But now we sing of the crimes

Lost passion echo through our cries

And you tell me you're walking away

Venturing into the rain

To be bound by life's chain

Forsaking the way we used to play

I grieve at curiosity's funeral

And your eyes start to full

Wave good-bye to boldness

Give greetings to the one called oldness

Our destiny is to be corrupt

Giving up all we love

No more stars up above

Oh, why must we grow up?

I've observed 'maturity' is abiding by patterns and routine to live life, and not relying on our own gathered knowledge to handle situations.. sounds awfully dismal, but you couldn't have penned it any more perfectly. Longing to be a child again is something I've yet to feel, and still don't know if I will, but I do not look forward to it. Well done!
