Bitter branches

Bitter branches

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

J.B Harvey. Her poetic words made me want to write tonight.

"

            Bitter branches

Old men are like ancient trees. Life will expand and multiply.
They will sit on old porches  and remember skeletons and blunders.
The have learned profound knowledge and the texture of the body get wore down.

Cruel nature never loses. Teaches us better to be humble than to live in a realm of
fake dreams and old victories. Wise men know. The past is lost, cannot be returned.
Resentment and old hate. Will make a sorrowful ending.

Life is disorder and confusion. Stale memory must be lost and we must falter to new hope and
dreams. Men who branches turn bitter and cold with time. Find the hallow heart and accept
living in the asylum of the loneliness.

Grandpa told me. I want no negative words in my house. Discard your anger at the door and sit
with me. Please share a story with me. Life is a portrait of many things. No perfect life son. Just
lead with love and kindness. You can't live holding hate. Forgive and move on.

I sit by the river and  I'm lagging behind. Old age and legs left me here.
Today I told my grandson like I was told by the old branches who held me up.
Don't speak negative words. Celebrate the good days and protect the family.

This is one of those poems like "If" by Kipling and "The Road Not Taken" by Frost that are full of wisdom, universality, and timelessness. I hope as many people read this and pass on the message, so that we can finally be set free from bitterness and so as to free the following generations as well. Thank you so much for this.

Ohh, love PJ Harvey...and your writing ♥
'Men who branches turn bitter and cold with time. Find the hallow heart and accept
living in the asylum of the loneliness.' How very true that is, and, of course, equally applies to women.

You always write with your 'pen dipped in thoughts and emotions experienced' - and that's what gives your words so much strength and sincerity, John.

Life is the most precious gift Man can have.. even Love pales aside it coz if we don't get Life right, how will Love be the joy it can be. Past is done, can't change it except by learning what's right, what's light, and, what can endure.

Your writing is beautiful.

I do like it. There is no perfect life. We just have to live this one to best of our ability and make it the best we can. Thanks for sharing Coyote!

Thank you Pryde. I appreciate the comment.
This is very profound but not in a preachy way. I like your words and the subject chosen, this has got to be one of your best.

It's curious as to where inspiration comes from, sometimes it's just a flash of thoughts

Well done Sir I am proud to say I know you

So true my friend so much wisdom in
this piece I am Honored to read such wisdom
and beauty makes me think of my grandpa it is
why I am so docile and calm spirited as was he
God gives me control I am a Mellow spirit always
have a mellow tone even if I get angry and I don't
stay angry long there then go like the cool
wisp of a breeze.

Yes Anger in the heart hardens the heart
and then it chokes the love that we have left
and many turn into a bitter soul and God can't
tent in their spirit nor speak from the tears as they
hold hate and bitterness as he is pure and love our judge.

Anger worry stress all a waste of time
and slowly ages us and chokes our Joy and
love and in come Branches that choke the good
and pure ones that god intended for us to have
very wise words indeed life gives us lesions and wisdom
and so does God and the Bible as we write his words upon
the walls of our hearts and tables of our homes.

Hope you're having a lovely Afternoon
This is going into my Favorites.

Blessings. Benita

you're welcome. :)
I agree that there is no perfect life, but our joy also depends on how we live it and move on from our past.
Great!

This is one we all could learn from. Not many realize we are too soon old and too late smart. Only the good we say or do will be remembered by others. valentine
