A wish upon a star

A wish upon a star

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Old dreams never fade away.

"
A  wish upon a star

Every night before I close my eyes.
 I whisper your name.

I make a wish to kiss your lips.
To feel the heat of your body.

I sent you a prayer.
A prayer you have found happiness.

I held you so tightly once.
But I saw the loneliness.
The hunger for the road in your eyes.

My wandering Angel was dying.
I drove you to the airport.

I watched as you flew away from me.
I whispered I would wait for you.

I knew when you set a wild animal free.
They will  never come back.

I drink the tequila now.
I run down Big Surf beaches yelling your name.

Sweet name to my heart.

I sit by the  bay.
After the tequila killed all my senses.

I dream I can see you dancing naked on the beach.
Whispering to  me.
" life is to be lived. Don'
t wallow in sadness."

You told me once you love me more than life..
 I will never leave you.

A sweet love can create a prison and a paradise.

I close my eyes.
I see my beautiful beautiful lady wandering the world.

I wish to have your hand in mine.
To take  long walks on the Monterey sand..

I'm waiting on the Big Surf beach.
I will  wish on the first star in the sky.

To be able to look into your eyes.
Tell you I love you.

"A wish upon a star"
coyote poetry,
This has the forever hope of young love; the optimism that was given an end but the heart dosn't know. Beautiful imagery of a wailing, hurting soul left to regroup and heal. Teqeula is the substitute for the sweetness of kisses and acceptance which were though a given. You appear to of written this a while back but memories can feel like they happened today. I hope that your soul has healed and things in perspective. Wishing you continued satisfaction and inspiration in life and of course your writing craft.
blessings,
Kathy

There is such a beautiful sadness expressed in your longing wish. Wonderfully spoken, you share the depth of your love through your words. I still wish on a star every night.

I like it. Feels bittersweet. There is a tone of happiness recalled and also heartbreak for a love lost. Imagery is good, too. I like how you name the beach and the area of Monterey. Having been there myself, it puts a vivid picture in my mind and also the cool breezes Monterey is famous for adds to the feel of heartbreak. Very nice :)

Hey your writings are always good. I like the style of this one. The tone was good through out. Not much I can see to change that has not already been said. Great job.

"A sweet love can create a prison and a paradise." great truth in this line. An honest poem, very hard to let go of a loved one when they have passed especially if the love was that deep, thanks for sharing.

Hi! Hope you are well. This piece of work expresses the solitary torture and quiet pain that one experiences when love is lost. Drowning your painful heart in tequila seems the appropriate way to comfort ones loneliness at first - but then the dreams of crazy desire for her love exposes itself again. This is so sad - but on the upside, very impressive work

We should all treasure love while we have it...I love the image of the wild animal being set free...of course they dont' come back, who wants to live a trapped life after experiencing past freedom. I think that sometimes we hold onto our love too tightly and end up losing it..as you said "A sweet love can create a prison and a paradise". You have a captivating writing style, you have made me think...
