Each day is a opportunity to do something good.

                            be reached locks up in sad and disappointing

Cornerstone of a good life are the kindness and love given and received.


Kind ancestors left us with gifts of love.
Needed to be passed on to our children.


Disappointment can barricade our mind and hearts.
We must breach the walls of disappointment.
Learn to celebrate being alive.


Correspond with your friends and family.
Tell them you miss and love them.


Remember lost friends.
Raised yourself up and fight the good fight.
Can't swim in self-pity.


Don't forfeit your dreams for someone else.


There are consequences for every action good or bad.


Aspire to touch the stars.
To dance on a lonely beach with a lover.
Sit at a park and watch your children play.


Thank the Spirit of life and death for one more day to be alive.

Teach me wisdom.
Kindness.
How to be humble.


Allow me to walk with my Brothers and Sisters in peace.


Allow us  to see a man or woman by the his deeds not the color of their skin.
Allow religion to be their personal choice.


Life is a road of a thousand decisions and journeys.
Please protect me on the road of life.


I pray the Spirit of life and death to forgive me for foolish
words said and deeds done.


Please give me strength and wisdom to do the right things.


Thank you for the sweet water that flow through my body and
keep my body and spirit clean.


Thank you for the blue sky and air that allowed me to walk
upon the Earth.


Thank you Green Earth.
Gifts of food to give me strength.


Thank you Spirit of Life and Death for one more day to be 
with my family and friends.

Hm, I guess it is! I wasn't even born when this was written :D haha! I like it though. I think it's amazing how you still have something from those years. All I have is a blanky my mom's best friend made for me! This poem is amazing, and as always your able to express it in such manners I don't think I ever could. Nice job!

I love this poem, it's made me appreciate all the simple things in life a lot more. As "Dark Angel's Storm", I also wasn't alive when you wrote that which is quite a scary thought. I've been brought up in the techno world, what with laptops, mobile phones, ipods etc and I wasn't brought up to appreciate having running water, beautiful trees and green things like that. I love the stripped approach of your poem, it worked really well. Good job,

In 1990 I gave birth to my daughter, my first child and what a joyful year it was.........very precious, as your words remind me how precious life is, and nothing is to be taken for advantage, I loved every emotion you shared, you are an inspiration to us that often lose faith, thank you.

what i love most about this poem is the structure and flow it has. what is so interesting about this is the way that every line seems come out as a whisper, like a prayer for instense. the reason i like that so much is because the subject matter of most of the poem and word choice is very earthy and simple. not so much about ryhme, but instead just beautiful language. this is something that i also use occassionally, how irresistable it is to not just write well written thoughts. its interesting also that this is all three poems at different times im guessing. i recently did something similar to this and found that it gives the poem a book like feel, a collection of small goals for the reader. its interesting because it gives three poems a new connection that was never there before. you have a really good poem here .
