A ocean apart

Written in April 1980. I need a positive poem today.

                            









A ocean apart













You are laying heavy upon my sweet dreams and hope.
I hold a simple letter in my hands.
Your sweet words saved me from pity and sadness.

You wrote sweet and kind words.
"I'm waiting for you. I have loved you since we met at the candy shop.
Please come back to me. You are my only love I want and need. I love you my Johnnie"

Miles separate us today.

Your beautiful face is all I can think of.
I yearn to hold you and kiss your tender and sweet lips.

But I can close my eyes.
I can see your smile.
Hear your beautiful voice.
Whispering. "Almost time my Soldier for you to come home. For the vast ocean to disappear and we will become one."

I pray for the days to go quickly.
For me to return home to you.

So my love.
Time will make us forget some promises.

But our time of separation is coming to a end and
I hope our love will truly begin.

A very old poem. To be young and hopeful again. Would be a nice feeling.

this is wonderful Coyote, but to be mature and hopeful is such a blessing, I enjoyed my youth but wasted it on "silly things of the young" but my 42yr old me I am totally loving and doing all things I should have done, So be forever young my most wonderful poetic man......

that's nice...I loved one line here-Time will make us forget some promises...I dont know but it struck some chord..we may of course forget some things,but that doesn't signify our lack of sincerity..we will always wait to be one.lovely write. :)
