How it Felt

How it Felt

A Poem by cat-a-lyst
"

This describes a dark part of my past when I was in a very unhealthy relationship.

"
I remember how it felt to lose my mind,
I could never just leave the past behind,
I wanted more, I just wanted it all.
I had nothing to grab hold of; I felt myself fall
I remember how it felt, cold and alone,
Sitting and waiting by the telephone;
Waiting, waiting, waiting for you,
waiting for you to save me was all I could do
Using a disguise to help show my smile,
I waited for you for quite a while.
But you never came back like I thought you would
It never went the way I thought it should,
and just like that, it was over; you were gone
and just like that, I could not see the dawn.

Now I never sit here waiting anymore
Not ever like I once did before,
Because I remember how it felt to lose my mind,
I remember all I wasted through all that time.
But now that you're gone, I can finally see,
Just by walking out, you did, however, save me.
