Myriad of Stares

Myriad of Stares

A Poem by Cat Prose
"

I wrote this while having a panic attack.

"
I stand. Paralyzed. Frozen in my fear. I feel a myriad of staring eyes piercing my soul. Like prey I stand unable to understand the situation. I want to run, but my bones lock and a shiver is sent through my muscles. Fear creeps through me like a poison. The only escape. Takes me from all. I contemplate the thought of it. I could escape, end it all, but along with leaving my fear behind I leave my loves behind. My passion, my friends, my everything, all gone in the void of time. But my biggest fear, my worst fear, is being forgotten. Your name, lost in the bucket of pity, pushed back. Soon all your loves, your fears are forgotten.  And all you become is a name. A word. A few letters. A memory.
