Screw You

Screw You

On my way to class...

"

The hallway was quiet and empty. Not a single person was rushing late to class or grabbing something from there locker, except me. It was the middle of 3rd period, and I walked from the library to my locker to retrieve my binder for the next period. I usually like being along. It is a time for my thoughts to collect and for me to really focus on myself. I walked down the empty hall and was almost towards the end, when I felt a hand grab my lower thigh, and another arm wrapped around my waist. With a heavy force, the mysterious person pulled my body backwards. It all happened so quickly yet, took forever. Of course, I have always thought about what would happen if someone were to abduct me. I had always just told myself that I would never have to know. I was forced into a situation where I needed to act quickly. I thought to scream, but nothing came out. It was like a dream, where when you went to run or scream, nothing happens. I forced the weight of my body onto this large man, and as we both tripped backwards he loosened his grip. I turned around and every angry thought was rushing through my head. My adrenaline rose to an amazing level, a level I didn't know could happen. I tightened my fist into a ball and threw it as hard as I could, knuckles first, towards his face. I could hear a sharp crack as my fist met his large nose. My hand was immediately red and bruising. I looked into the eyes of a man who was confused. Confused that a girl could have such force compared to him. He turned, holding his broken nose, and ran. I stood there for a few seconds, contemplating whether or not that had even happened. I wasn't scared, or panicked. I wasn't crying or scared. I was enthralled. I had stood up to a man larger and taller than me. He not only was larger than me, but he represented everything I was ever scared of or cried about.  I walked away feeling fulfilled. I finally stood up for myself. Screw You.
