A Toast Under The Mulberry Trees

A Toast Under The Mulberry Trees

A Poem by Yuan
"

About a soldier returning to his home after a long battle, it is inspired by 秦桑 Qin Sang Qu.

"

Sweet liquid fire beneath this night,
Silence bring ecstasy full golden bright,
Cruel wind rapped sensed not of chills-
For swoon of pleasures keep one still,

Think not hard days to head or pass,
Remind good things here still will last.
Dearest moon to show a gleam,
for time will touch this form in faithful dreams.

Release there all as one shall rejoice,
For speak thus here but a common voice,
Nay pain with blood to streak with tears,
None in battle doth give care.

Fear not of man before us stood,
Repent he may if one day could,
Good night! with love, to lay another kiss
into comfort slumber, each life would risk.
