Angel, My Angel of the Corn

Angel, My Angel of the Corn

A Poem by Cecelia
"

All earth as one

"

Angel, My Angel of the Corn!

Her eyes, the color of Mother Earth

Her hair, pale wisps of tumbling silk,

Her wings, powerful, the strongest leaves.

Her gown, husks glowing from inner light.

Angel, My Angel of the Corn,

You know I have been hiding under

Stalks so tall I can't see the sky.

Take me where I can see it all.

Maybe then I'll understand.. the why.

I close my eyes, take a deep breath,

I feel the beating of your wings.

My spirit soars into the clouds.

I hear music; an angel sings.

Angel, My Angel of the Corn,

Take me to the edge so that

I may see what I've been missin'.

In that field of mice and snakes,

Just been listenin' to the hissin'.

I see the glory... Mother's quilt,

pieced from abundant treasure,

A living, breathing quilt, bursting

with gifts beyond our measure.

Angel, My Angel of the Corn,

My eyes are open for now I see the

World as parts stitched into one.

I see our quilt, worn , stained, stretched

far and wide, but still lying in the sun.

And I know it's time to go...

I close my eyes, take a deep breath,

I feel the beating of your wings.

My spirit is taken back to earth.

I hear music; an angel sings.

To achieve peace we must rise above our "field" of vision to see and feel the oneness that is Mother Earth.

I love this, it flows beautifully, I felt like a was being carried along in a poetic breeze, it has gorgeous imagery and takes the reader into a fantasy-world. I enjoyed it very much. Annie :)

Your poem definitely exhibits the enlightenment one can feel becoming as one with Mother Earth, this is divine.
