Kiss of death

Kiss of death

A Poem by Chad Rogers

As i scan the courtyard, i glance and rest my sight upon a glimmer of shimmering armor.

A sense of adamantine fortitude, and a fierce willpower so nobody could harm her.

I must confess, i was hypnotized by the elegance of this warrior princess.

With honor and might, anticipating a fight, She wields her sword and shield

Her emerald eyes catch my gaze, and her stare warns me to yield.

But in my captivation, i approach…”I mean no harm, Milady,

I present only, admiration” “One step closer, and i shall strike you down” she bellows.

“If you insist, but know this...i will not resist. I come but for a kiss”

The lady readies her sword, standing to attack.

No longer, do i stand back.

If i am unworthy of, my one true love

Then let me die today, so the pain will fade.

There is nothing left to say.

So favor me, and all i gave.

Lay me to my grave.
