My Rebellion

My Rebellion

A Poem by Chad Hollingsworth

The time has come...

My soul so longs for this...

My rebellion.

It's not that I don't struggle with doubt,

A life without

Form or function.

It's not that

at all...

What is and what should never be

Is a life spent in mediocrity.

A struggle between ambiguity in me

Is forcing me to define my role in this war.

It's time to stand strong and yell,

Resistance against this hell

That plagues my very soul.

This thing that keeps me from being whole,

It is my self?

So I will rebel, break free from this jail,

Rise up with a vengeance

By determined insurgence.

Rebellion in its truest form,

Makes like a swarm,

Resisting the warm

Bed of complacency.

If you believe in He,

Then by dying we succeed

For my death does secede

me from whom I am designed to be.

My rebellion is

My destiny.
