Another Useless Eve

Another Useless Eve

A Poem by Comrade Andrew
"

A little ditty about, well, take what you will from it.

"

We dreamt all night,

that you'd come home.

We never had,

a place to go.

And we stood outside,

the ol' factory, I,

know you will see,

I know you will see.

We smoke and drank,

and we fought and laughed.

Raising eyes,

to our woeful pasts.

Not a tear was shed,

towards the moon we led,

another goodbye - and it'll go on again.

I've got your picture,

kept on my mind.

I'm thinking of you,

every second of my life,

but that's not fair,

oh it'll never be,

here's to life.

to you and me.

Another useless eve,

by the ol' factory.

There was Sean...

Dan, and his laugh...

We walked all night,

just aimlessly,

by the factory,

oh by the factory.

We watched the clock,

and we sat by the lake,

reminiscing,

of better days.

And we sang sad songs,

we were outcasts and wrongs,

one day we'll be free,

oh just you and me.

So I'll tip this glass,

to the memory.

Don't forget,

what you see.

And I'll come to you,

when you think you're past,

trapped - under the lee,

I'll take your hand,

and we'll walk aimlessly,

I'll hold you all night,

by the factory.
