Scars never fade

Scars never fade

A Poem by Chaotickitty

There she sits, in a world so dark.

Hoping, wishing, yearning, for the end.

When she can take off the black gloves.

Take off the guilt.

Reveal the pain that lurks inside.

Show her scars for what they really are.

The pain doesn't come as quickly anymore.

She has to dig deeper.

Grasping the knife in one hand, the other on the table.

It's no longer for herself.

For she no longer matters.

It's for him.

So he knows what he did to her.

The pain he caused.

The torture.

The ripping.

The burning.

She hopes he finds her first.

Sees the blood around her.

She hopes the sight tortures him for the rest of his life.

Like the sight of him walking away, haunted her dreams.

She rubs the cold blade against her warm skin.

As usual, shivers go up her spine.

She traces the veins through her translucent skin.

She slowly pushes the tip into a skinny blue vein.

She goes deeper.

Deeper than she has ever gone before.

The blood pours out, sweet relief along with it.

The pain feels like heaven.

She switches hands, and plunges the tip of the knife into the other wrist.

Drops of blood fall to the white carpet below.

Now for the finale, she thinks as she turns the knife towards her heart.

With both hands, she thrusts the knife into her heart and collapses.

She says goodbye one last time, before closing her eyes.
