Apparition

Apparition

A Poem by Charlie Hawthorne

Turn out the lights
        Can't sleep tonight.
Haunted.

Why did she say that?
Why did I do that?
Why didn't we listen?

Now we are both hurt.
In places that will never fully heal.

Turn out the lights
        Can't sleep tonight.
Haunted.

Why did she leave me behind?
Why didn't I cry, I wanted to?
Why make the promises we had no intention of keeping?

Now we are both hurt.
In places that will never fully heal.

Turn out the lights
        Can't sleep tonight.
Haunted.

About
I think I started taking writing seriously when I was 13. I go through periods in my life where I write a lot and become inspired easily, but I also go through times when my creative juices do not see.. more..
