Daydream Believer

Daydream Believer

A Poem by Charlie Hawthorne

What is in daydream?
                  Is it in a smile?
Is it in the way your hand touches mine
                 Even for awhile?

What is in daydream?
Is it in the rain falling from the sky?
Is it in the last thing you think
                  Just before you die?

What is in daydream?
Is it in the ribbon tied to her hair?
Is it in the words on this page
Or the cadence in the air?

What is in daydream?
Is it in the softspoken whispers in my ear?
Is it in the dark
                  That you silently fear?

What is in daydream?

About
I think I started taking writing seriously when I was 13. I go through periods in my life where I write a lot and become inspired easily, but I also go through times when my creative juices do not see.. more..
