A Poem by Charlie Hawthorne

IF you had to pick either brains,
a heart,
courage,
or a home
which would you choose?

WOULD you be in search for knowledge?
How about taking a bite of the apple,
you know, that one from that tree.
Learn all the lessons your ears can hold.
Are brains what you are searching for?

I wonder,
are you seeking love?
Do you want to be wrapped in life's
eternal embrace.
Open up your heart and let all souls in.
Is a heart what you seek?

BRAVERY, is that what you pursue?
Like a big cat, you want the heart of the
lion, or lioness.
Fight off all your enemies, and protect the weak.
Do you continue pursuing courage?

STUMBLED, across a home?
I see you walking on that worn path,
the one that leads to the place the heart is.
To be surround by an entity and made whole.
Are you still stumbling towards home?

CHOICES.
A brain.
A heart.
Courage.
Home.

Which would you choose?

About
I think I started taking writing seriously when I was 13. I go through periods in my life where I write a lot and become inspired easily, but I also go through times when my creative juices do not see.. more..
