Just letting the clock tick by

While acting out the part of the person I

Might have been, exploding on the

Inside, to hide the fears and tears I locked in

My mind. My heart broke and I just couldn’t

Cry.

 

So many nights I lie awake wondering just

How much I can take

Of this life I think I want out my head’s been reeling

With all these doubts

 

How much can I smile when my heart’s been breaking

It’s been a long while

But I’m still mistaking my foes for my friends this story

Just never ends

 

I stare at the face of betrayal can’t believe things

Turned out this way

I search for a place of solace but I know I

Just can’t stay here

I need to move away.

 

Like every story mine will have a happy ending

Time soon will be mending

My heart and my mind I’ll be as good as new
