She was a light

She was a light

A Poem by Charvi

She forgot she was a bird,
To wing her way to the sky,
Forced down in the dumps,
She forgot how to fly;
She forgot she was a flower,
Meant to blossom and glow,
Struck by storm so hard,
She was suppressed far below;
She forgot she was an ocean,
Boundless and deep,
drowned in herself,
Nothing to hold on
but those tears she weeped;
She forgot she was a Breeze,
Unstoppable and free,
Bashed by a cyclone,
She stumbled and lost her glee;
All she knew,
She was a light,
Backed by no force,
Silver and bright,
Once and for all, she chose to take a flight,
For dawn awaited her,
To bring an end to the night.

Thank you very much :)
I can say I love it. It reminds me of how profoundly affected women are by the lack of importance society places on the gifts they bring to the world. Nice poem!
