Daughter

Daughter

A Poem by Amin

I just can’t tell you...
I won’t... Why?
Because…
I feel like if I wrote it,  it’d jinx the whole damn thing.
I’d write you in depth, and like an app

I’d make you obsolete.

but can you blame me love?
for not wanting to utter your name
or breathe a note of song in thought?
War.
I only want to be there if I believe

And love, I can’t tell you I believe anymore.
I think of you less often
and I crowd my mind with useless things
that carry no responsibility and keep me
childish.

for what kind of man would know you before he knew you
and know well enough to not love you?
I bid your mist an airy adieu
and travel inland clouds.
