Gray

Gray

A Poem by W. Dunning
"

Introducing Gray. If given the chance, he will ruin you.

"

My name is Gray.

Don’t forget it.

What’s my profession? Killing.

I destroying people’s will to live.

It takes a while, but the end result

satisfies.

How do I do it? Killing colors.

By simply taking vibrant colors

And dulling them down,

People grow depressed.

Why? No colors to see.

Only different shades of gray.

No vibrancy, no life.

My favorite technique?

I plant subversive ideas;

A “what-if” here,

A “he might be cheating” there.

Give the suicidal depressing thoughts,

They need more of it.

Hell, they crave that s**t.

The best part of my work?

No one knows where I’m at

anywhere or any time.

I creep my way from rainy day

To rainy day.

Sudden rain at the beach?

That’s me.

Thunderclap during your picnic?

Me again.

I don’t need to walk or run,

Sprint or crawl.

I take my time.

So long as there are people

Who can feel miserable,

I’ll be around.
