A Poem by Chelsea J Robbins

“I love you,” he sighed.

I looked up at him, tears in my eyes, threatening to spill out at any time, “but you love her more, don’t you?”

There was a silence, that god awful silence that made the anticipation of his next words so intense, “I’m sorry.”

I turned my back and walked, finally letting go of those tears stinging my eyes, and with those tears I let him go. The one thing that made me happy in this world.. I was leaving it behind.
